Candidate Assessment

If you have several candidates standing for the choice to become a MSF practitioner where you do not know, who has the best views to pass the exam for the MSF practitioner, we help you with a candidate assessment. Your candidates are checked by us during an assessment. The assessment takes place in a loose atmosphere in which we determine the knowledge and abilities of your employees by project tasks and team processes. Afterwards you will get a report in which we demonstrate the existing knowledge and knowledge gaps and suggest an optimal education path to MSF-Practitioner for the respective candidates.

MSF - Principles of Application Development (MOC 1516) is a three-day course that teaches a project management framework for achieving success in enterprise software development projects.
or
MSF - Principles of Infrastructure Deployment (MOC 1517) is a three-day course that teaches a project management framework for achieving success in technology infrastructure deployment projects.
The courses focuses on three important project planning models - the Microsoft Solutions Framework team model, the MSF process model, and the MSF proactive risk management process.

The MSF team model advocates a small team of peers working in interdependent multidisciplinary roles. It is designed so that its six team roles map directly to the six quality goals MSF considers necessary for project success. The team model is specifically designed to overcome the communication issues typically experienced by more traditional hierarchical teams.

The MSF process model is a flexible approach to project management that improves project control, minimizes risk, and improves product quality, while increasing deployment speed. It is based on four major milestones, which are review and synchronization points that allow the project team to adjust the scope of the project to reflect changing customer requirements or to react to risks that may materialize during the course of the project.

The MSF approach to proactive risk management is a five-step process that enables project teams to assess risks continuously and use them for decision making in all phases of the project. Using the process, project teams carry the risks forward and deal with them until they are resolved or until they turn into problems and are handled as such.

After completing this course, students should be able to explain what the MSF team model is and the role it plays in successful project management; explain what the process model is and how it contributes to project success; explain and demonstrate the advocated MSF risk management techniques; and demonstrate the ability to perform basic MSF-oriented tasks that they have practiced during course labs and activities.

MSF - Hands On Workshop

This workshop gives the possibility to test the knowledge about MSF in a real-life scenario. As a special exam preparation the participation is highly recommended.
This workshop gives answers to the question: How can I deal with MSF in my projects? In the workshop we won't tell you WHAT but HOW to do it. The students will carry out a complete project: starting with the customer request about budgeting, planning, developing, and testing up to deploying. During the workshop you clarify HOW MSF can help to complete a project successfully.
To form the practice transfer and the learning success as efficiently and effectively as possible the workshop uses methods of experimental learning. During the workshop the real project world will be simulated. The students can try out and practice the MSF principles without being able to cause an actual damage.
Every group (max. 8 students) are coached by two trainers. During the workshop the trainers and the students will work out the students specific learning points.

Exam Preparation „MSF Practitioner“

This seminar serve for the special preparations on the exam to the MSF-Practitioner. All subjects relevant to the exam are worked through and are deepened correspondingly. At the end of the seminar an exam simulation takes place. The seminar is executed by MSF master trainers. It is recommended to cover the seminar directly before the exam day.

Exam "MSF - Practitioner"

The exam will be conducted by a MSF master trainer. The exam is done by an interview conversation between MSF master trainer and candidate.
